In the meantime, I have found 9 seedling trees growing in various spots and have potted them in containers and are growing them for friends who want the tree. I'm anxious for spring to see if the Mimosa will give us yet another year of its sprawling beauty.

After we moved away the yard where the Mimosa grew was allowed to go unchecked for several years and there was a patch of trees growing nearby that the plow later took out. But as long as the yard was mowed, there was never another Mimosa thatgrew as a volunteer on that property or even around the pond next to our property.

( ZONE 6 ) My wife spotted a mature Mimosa tree in full bloom. I was amazed as I hadn't seen one in years. My parents home in Redding, CA. is surrounded by Mimosa's and hummingbirds. I am now growing one of these trees.
