Subject: Why gumshoe? Date: Sunday, August 04, 1996 12:39 PM; Hi, My name is Robert Anderson. My wife just asked me why detectives are called gumshoes so I thought I would put the internet to task. I'm trying to prove to her the usefulness of the internet.

I wish you, all visitors of The Gumshoe Site, a happy joyful and peaceful new year. To my own great surprise, the year 2009 is the 14th year since I started this site. Since there are many good mystery websites and blogs around, I don't feel it necessary to update the site as frequently as 13 years ago.
