A lot of women put off their first visit because they’ve heard horror stories or don’t know what to expect. If you haven’t been to the gynecologist yet, you should go soon so you can get your reproductive organs examined and make sure you don’t have any gynecological problems.

Your gynecologist will then ask you to undress and leave you alone in a room for a while. You will also be given a hospital gown or drape sheet, which will help you feel more comfortable ... Don't let your anxiety, phobia or bad past experiences or horror stories of other people scare you into compromising your own health.

I wouldn’t go so far as to say that I’d rather get my teeth drilled than go to the gynecologist, but they’re pretty close together on my list of least favorite things to do.
