In particle physics, a hadron (pronounced /ˈhædrɒn/ , from the Greek: , hadrós , "stout, thick") is a particle made of quarks held together by the strong force (similar to how molecules are ...

Particles that interact by the strong interaction are called hadrons. This general classification includes mesons and baryons but specifically excludes leptons, which do not interact by the strong force. The weak interaction acts on both hadrons and leptons.

Exotic hadron - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
|
|
Exotic hadrons are subatomic particles made of quarks (and possibly gluons), but which do not fit into the usual scheme of hadrons. While bound by the strong interaction they are not predicted by the...

The Standard Model - What is the world made of? - Hadrons, Baryons, and Mesons ... Although individual quarks have fractional electrical charges, they combine such that hadrons have a net integer electric charge. Another property of hadrons is that they have no net color charge even though the quarks themselves carry...

ELEMENTARY PARTICLE PHYSICS and COSMOLOGY- HADRONS and LEPTONS ... HADRONS: These interact thru the nuclear force. There are two different classes, mesons and baryons, distinguished by their masses and spins. Hadrons are made up of quarks, and there are quite a lot of them.

Hadrons consist of a group of quarks that are made from a combination of quarks. There are two different basic combinations possible: 3 quarks, or a quark and an antiquark. The reason why there are only two combinations will be explained later in terms of quantum chromodynamic theory.

Particles which can interact via the strong interaction are called hadrons. All hadrons are composed of elementary particles called quarks . The source of the strong interaction is the socalled color charge of the quarks.

The reason that fractional electric charges like those of quarks have not been seen is that the quarks are never found separately, but only in composite particles called hadrons.
