The hard drive was not recognized by the bios and the OS will not startup. I installed the HDD on a second system and was able to access files. Hard Drive not Recognized! Help! General Hardware ... But when I went to install Knoppix directly to the hard drive, it could not find it, even though it is plugged into my computer. I've just bought the same Hard Drive, works on my Laptop, not on my desktop both running XP. It shows in device manage as being active, it passes when I do a test with utility provided from their website. Doesn't show ...
