Hermann Rorschach was born on November 8, 1884, in Zurich, Switzerland. According to Ellenberger (1954, p. 175) young Rorschach was raised "in an atmosphere of extraordinary intellectual, artistic, and cultural concentration." He studied medicine in Zurich, Nuremberg, Bern, and Berlin.
