High-grade SIL. Cells in this category look very different from normal cells and are less likely to return to normal without treatment and more likely to develop into cancer. These abnormal cellular changes are still confined to the surface of the cervix only and still are considered precancerous changes.

I was told yesterday that one of those areas was high-grade SIL at the squamocolumnar junction (I think that was it) and my ob/gyn wants to perform a LEEP. She said the results did not differentiate between CIN 2 or 3. Oddly (scarily?), my Pap from the same annual came back negative.
