In addition to paying short-term, non-immigrant alien visitors' honoraria payments, departments also have the option of reimbursing the visitor for travel-related expenses. The Internal Revenue Code, Regulations and IRS pronouncements impose less complex rules in paying travel expenses than honoraria payments.
