The main question is -What are the 22 chromosome pairs other than sex chromosomal pair (which is XY) -YY or XY ? Thank You. ... There is only one pair of sex chromosomes. XX for female and XY for a male. I believe the other 22 chromosome pairs in a human are all for other purposes (though can carry sex linked genes).

rec12-117, rec12-D15 (null), and rec12-Y98F (active site) mutants lacked most crossover recombination and chromosomes segregated abnormally to generate aneuploid meiotic products. Since S. pombe contains only three chromosome pairs, many of those aneuploid products were viable.

During Metaphase I, homologous chromosomes will line up. A karyotype can be made by cutting and arranging photomicrographs of the homologous chromosomes thus revealed at Metaphase I. Two types of chromosome pairs occur. ... Only a few genes have been identified on the Y chromosome, among them the testis-determining factor...
