I know to drink Castor Oil with Orange Juice, but ... drinking castor oil wont break your water!! it "can" cause false contractions (not labor contractions) and can cause severe diahhrea. it tastes like sh*t. . the contractions are bowel movements and can confuse you into thinking you're in labor.

Not being negative, but you can't break your own water. Not only would you not know what you were poking around at, even if you did accompish it, you would be running the risk of a prolapsed cord or infection. Artificial rupture of the memb...

Please don't purposely try to break your water. Next to the placenta, it is the life source for the baby and if the baby hasn't been born yet, mother nature has a good reason for it...be patient, your bundle of joy will be here sooner than you know it.

First off, doctors induce labor under sterile conditions, so if you were to try and do this yourself, you could end up with an infection, an unhealthy baby, etc. But, having sexual intercourse a lot helps induce labor, becaus of the pitocin...

According to the study, the procedure didn't seem to pose any complications and didn't cause the patients' waters to break. Even though your practitioner would be the one to do the procedure (vs. the other methods that can be done by you at home), we include it here because it is a non-medical intervention.

If the cervix is already around four centimeters dilated and is already thinned out (or effaced), it may be enough for the practitioner to just break the bag of water. Many times, that will give the uterus the chemical signals needed to start labor and no further help is needed.

Also at each ten minute break, I swished and swallowed a blue and black cohosh concoction (three squirts each of high quality tincture). This was not fun but better than the alternative. That evening I had cramping but not contractions.
