I have done some paintings on canvas (Oil Colour) 6-7 years back, still some of the area wherever I used white colour is little sticky, I feel like it is not ... I have an old oil painting from prior to the Napier earthquake in New Zealand. I would like to clean it. I would appreciate it if some one could advise me.

We suggest using a piece of linoleum cut out from a sink under the area of the painting you are working on to prevent excessive pressure on the canvas. Step 2: Apply Gainsborough Neutralizer to a piece of cotton wool or white cotton cloth and gently wipe over the face of the oil painting to clean off the surface dirt.

This may be a silly question, but I recently bought an oil painting on artists' board, and it definitely needs some cleaning up. How do I do this? It's not a valuable ... At a garage sale, I found a wonderful old drawing. But it's rather dirty and perhaps has had some water dripped on it. What is the best way to clean it?

Always practice on an old painting before cleaning a customer's oil painting. The collector often wishes to clean lesser value paintings. These are safe products to use if the directions are followed and care is taken.
