Polystyrene was first produced commercially in the 1930s and the ready availability of styrene feedstock has helped it to grow. Styrene will polymerise spontaneously on heating in an oxygen-free atmosphere but catalysts are added to ensure complete polymerisation at lower temperatures. ... Search for Polystyrene Suppliers...

Styrofoam products are first extruded from raw materials into rolls of sheet. They are then thermoformed into a shape. What this means is, the sheet is first heated to make it pliable, then it is formed into the shape we want. All the scrap...

Polystyrene samples were exposed to hyperthermal neutral oxygen beams composed of an approximately 60/40 mix of oxygen atoms to oxygen molecules traveling at an average velocity of 8 km/sec. ... The molecular beam produced unique metastable species that lasted up to two weeks. Once the surfaces had aged,

This work examines four polystyrene (PS) resins and PS resins with fillers. The materials are processed into sheets and then the sheets are foamed at various supercritical conditions. The morphology of the foam is studied and a large porous PS foam is also developed for a vacuum insulation panel.
