Probably a pretty good while - when i used to smoke i actually kept the carton in the freezer and pulled out a pack when i was out - they always stayed fresh for over a month.....

From my experience, cigarettes seem to get stale if you have an opened pack that is left for too long a period of time (ie. a few weeks). I never had to worry about that when ... Roommate in college always kept his there, swore they would stay fresh longer. I guess a pack doesn't survive with me long enough to get stale.
