The phase is often referred to as the "age" and is measured in days (Earth days that is). In particular, I may use the term "Lunar Day" in two ways.

The problem with this idea is that today the average time between successive full Moons is 29.531 days—not 30 days. If preflood months were 30 days long, but today are 29.531 days long, then the Moon’s orbit was probably “pulled” closer to Earth as a consequence of the flood.

World Book Article on Moon The moon rotates on its axis once every 29 1/2 days. That is the period from one sunrise to the next, as seen from the lunar surface, and so it is known as a lunar day. By contrast, Earth takes only 24 hours for one rotation.

If we speed up the orbit of the earth to 30.22379 km/s we would end up with a year that is 360 days long. However, if the earth had a year of 360 days per year (= earth's orbital speed of 30.22379 km/s) the moon would now automatically have a 30 day lunar month without changing the speed of the orbit of the moon!
