I found a 2L ice cream container, filled it with water, put the egg in the water, closed the lid and taped it up for more security. Did some test with mixed success. Later I added some salt to water to make the egg more buoyant, worked every time. ... How-To: Felt 3D Snowflake Ornament...

Update: I'll be testing firing contraptions this week, wait to build your egg drop safety container until after Friday so that you can see the firing contraption in the podcast. Rules may change at that ... a normal eggdrop from 60'(if you make one that doesn't try to slow down the fall) hits the ground doing around 42mph.
