I'm not sure if this is true for everyone, but my home line is a private number. I don't dial *82 to unblock it when I call my cell. When I look at the call log online, or when the detailed bill comes in, my home number shows up as well as other numbers that appear to be "restricted" on my handset.

Just tried to call a Rogers Telecom landline and my name and number are being blocked, not be my request. Not occuring on one phone or account either nor is it a Block by Bell or Rogers switches as ... If you don't want your name and number to be displayed, enter #31#, free of charge, before each phone number you call.

Today I have recieved about 6 calls from "restricted", i.e., in my missed calls list they are listed as "restricted". There is no call back number listed and any attempt to hit send and call back on these missed calls to find out what is going on delivers a message from the phone of: invalid number.

I just got a second strange phone call in as many weeks, this time from an entity named "Restricted". No phone number, just that name. It came with a strange ring tone from my phone. When I picked up there was no connection that I could hear. ... Trying to call back brought an "invalid number" error.
