one FARAD IS BIG if he try to connect that capacitor to a source yes you will get a very big spark it may actually destroy the source unless current limited. and the one time constant is 63% of the applied voltage and for practical purposes after 5 ... All the guy asked for is how to connect the cap, not whats in it.

One more quick question, from the new guy, Can you guys please tell me, or show a diagram of how to properly hook up a 1.2 farad cap, also what xtras I will need to do it. P.S. Take it easy on me, I'm just learning as I go!!haha( just incase this is a very basic install);

Though a 1 farad cap probably costs more than an engine crank survivor thing + a lead acid APC style battery. ... Might have a problem though because you have to hook up inline, though I'm sure you could just hook up the ring terminals from the battery supply and the lead acid "engine crank" battery to the same leads on...

I'm A/B'ing this setup between a Marshall JCM2000 TSL 100 (Voodoo mods) and I use a small Marshall 30 watt 1-12 combo. ... It's is kind of a pain to set up but once your there just hit the button and start talking. Didn't need the manual cause my other guitar player has one and he showed me how to hook it up.

I just bought a 1 farad rockford fosgate capacitor for my cars sound systems. It is not charged and i plan on using it for my subwoofers.
