My brother has 2.25" true duals with straightpipes off the stock cats on his '97 4.6, it sounds really good. It has a nice crack to it when he revs it up, has a nice cackle above 2500 going down the road, and you can still hear yoursel...

I have ASM LT headers, no cats, x-pipe, dual borla pro xs mufflers... I intalled the headers and removed the cats on my truck.. big difference in sound.. Now it sounds more aggresive.. so no cats = louder ... Yeah I was just going to say a cam will sure make your car sound mean; not a cheap easy mod, though.

I don't want it ricey sounding but a little bit is okay since it's a regular truck anyways, I just want it to sound louder. I guess all the civics and stuff have more expensive mufflers on them! I only paid $20 for my glasspack haha guess you get what you pay for! ... it will make your motor run like crap if you take it off.

How to make my exhaust LOUDER!! ... So I would like to give my car a more aggressive sound, but I'm not too keen on getting a new muffler to replace the perfectly good, very expensive one I just put on. I wouldn't be averse to getting a resonated tip welded on, but I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make.

Thread: How to make my exhaust LOUDER!! ... But the muffler is the main control of what dictates the sound. On my Z I have a high flow cat and glasspack for muffler thru 2.5" pipes and you can hear it idle while inside the house. Now when I open it up, watch out!

introHow to make your truck/vehicle sound beastly! for $30 (exhaust/muffler) ... Apparently, though, that doesn't make it run worse or anything - just makes it louder, which, after I got used to it, I decided I like it better this way (most of the time). Makes my 92 Beretta (I'm the original owner) almost cool!
