you could easily make this into a backpack-type pouch too by making it larger, and making the cords longer. just attach the loose ends of the cords to the bottom corners of the pouch and voila! excellent tutorial though, beautifully done.

For the drawstring handles you will need two 18 inch lengths of ribbon or cord and a saftey pin. Do not use metallic cording as it is too rough to slide in the channels when you want to open your pouch. ... (Tip: make a pracise one first!) ... 3. Turn it inside out so the sewn edges are now inside, and you have a long unlined bag with lining material on one side and the nice material on the other. (it's helpful to iron it flat at this point - see photo below)
