For the past few years I have used per-round scoring of 2-3-5-8-13-21 by round, plus a seed score of seed# x round#. It works out really well for my pool and the point balances seem to be very fair. ... I'm running a bracket pool in my dorm, and I was just looking for a good way to score it. There will be probably 20ish people, at a 5 dollar buy-in. Any scoring system ... Usually, the bonus is double the regular 1st round pts from 2pts to 4pts. No real reason for this. It was how the first pool I ever entered was set up.

I don't think the other answers really answered your question... for my bracket pool I'm probably going to do 1 for the first round, 3 for the second, 5, 7, 10, and 20 you can really choose however many points you want to for each round, ...
