How could you forget "aint"! ... I'm from the south and although I say "y'all" and "fixin to" and "pin" for both pen/pin, I don't have a southern drawl. I'm from the deep southeastern Louisiana area and down here we don't have a "country accent." There is also the way the bayou/cajun folk talk which is completely different too...

I was thinking about this the other day when a friend was telling me about her new Northern friend who was upset because her toddler is just beginning to talk and he has a Southern accent.
