How would I know if I actually ingested glass and what should I do about it? I did some Googling and it seems like generally people now fast enough, as their mouth starts to bleed, or the shards of glass get stuck in their teeth.

I have a relatively expensive blender that has a small 1/4" chip right at the base of the glass where the bottom screws off. It still works but it leaks a little and I'm worried ... Just get a replacement blender top. Personally, I'd rather not take the risk of ingesting glass shards or chips, no matter what size!
