By eliminating their victim they would be minimising the risk of a successful conviction and receiving the death penalty. Without a distinction between rape and murder punishments, ... It is an undeniable fact that the death penalty takes innocent victims' lives. It is obviously impossible to determine the exact number of innocent convicts that were punished by the death penalty.
