[Archive] Input Not Supported Windows ... I found and installed the Nvidia drivers which resulted in "Input Not Supported". Back to Safe Mode to find out how to turn down the refresh rate on my monitor. Decided: what the hell, I'll turn off Hardware Acceleration and it wanted to reboot to make that happen.

My son has a 17'' HP Debranded Widescreen TFT LCD Monitor wSpkrs . It was working just fine until last night. He said he shut it down, came back later and started up his machine. The monitor works until you get to Windows splash screen at which point it says "input type not supported".

I build a pc which has been going great till now, I start putting in alot of classic games that worked fine such as Simcity 3000. Luanch the game and get this message: "Input Not Supported" on my monitor? WTF???

But I'm not sure if your 32” LCD can do that. ... This is why if you have a laptop with 1920 x 1200 res, you can view two side-by-side pages in Word quite legibly, without any extra white space on the right hand side of the monitor. Until this year, almost no LCD or plasma HDTVs supported 1080p resolution as an input signal.

If you are buying a 1300 dollar monitor, the price for a cheap video card may not matter. But, you can go ... Not all X1k series cards are Dual Link DVI supported, actually many below the X1600XT (i.e. the X1600PRO) are not Dual Link DVI ... in that article, "Note that the display has only a single, dual-link DVI input.
