Ammeter must have both alt output (large wire) and all ignition and accesory loads on the same terminal with one leg of the ammeter. After you hook it up turn on some accessories and watch which way the needle moves.

An ammeter looks good in older bikes such as old SOHCs and early Kawasakis and Yamahas. Put it in the headlight shell as in old Brit bikes. A fairing if you have one is also a good place to put an ammeter. Makes that fairing more useful, and it's the easiest way to install an ammeter.

This is how I installed my Ammeter In my NX2000 according to the directions Sunpro Included, they give you 8 different ways to install this gauge, you just have to find the correct diagram out of the 8 to install it right.

need to know if ammeter has a shunt or not . The voltmeter should wire directly ... The actual meter side will be connected at the + and the - side of the battery and the + side will be fused at somewhat less amps than the wire size, I would guess 1 amp for this install. So remember to stick an in-line fuse in the + wire.
