Wax paper has a food safe wax coating on it that parchment paper doesn't. I prefer to use parchment and have never had a ... I use parchment for anything that goes in the oven. Wax paper is used for lining the counter (to spoon flour into measuring cups), ... I think you spray the pan first so that the paper will stay put.

I may be incorrect...but isn't parchment paper actaully "waxed paper' without the wax?? I would never put waxed paper in the oven! Some of that wax has got to melt and leave some kind of residue whether we can see it or not, I'm sure it's there in our food!
