This is an ABSOLUTE NO-BRAINER, of course now is the time to buy - anyone reading this that *can* and *wants* to by a house, you had better get your a$$ out there now because the best dealers *are* being snatched up. ... it is a good idea , only if you can afford to make that giant leap. be very sure you can handle it first.

I agree, I think now is a great time to buy a house if you want one and finances allow it. Like with your friend, if I was a buyer I’d really work the doom-and-gloom angle if I was negotiating to try to get the seller to give me a good price.
