Full knowledge means that a person knows what he is doing is sinful, thus if a person does not know that skipping mass is a mortal sin, then he does not commit a mortal sin by skipping mass.

Now I could have said Skipping mass is a mortal sin and you will go to hell if you don’t confess and repent. But I don’t believe that. That would be lying. I love the catholic faith. I try to give 'catholic' answers to the questions I answer.

The Mass is celebrated at Christ’s instruction, “Do this in memory of Me.” If we all take a moment to understand why participating in Mass is so important, why skipping Mass is a mortal sin, maybe ‘obligation’ will no longer seem like such an imposing word.

If 2 people talk about God, we are already in his presence. And how could skipping mass be a mortal sin - mortal sin is something like murder. And skipping mass isn't like murder. You don't get the death penalty for skipping mass.

Is not going to Mass a mortal sin? ... Oh, I wasn't worried about it for myself, just thought it was interesting and dh asked me about it. I remember talking about mortal sins in school and they had to be grievous etc. I don't remember skipping church being one of the examples mentioned, but I doubt our teacher gave us...
