Each and every one was painful and each and every one was necessary to get on with my life. I am having a laminectomy and removal of a synovial cyst in October. I can cancel it if I choose to but why would I? It needs to be done just as you need to have the myelogram.

Don't have a myelogram! Mine was excrutiatingly painful, followed by a weeklong headache during which I could not sit-up or stand-up. I now have several headaches every month. I never got headaches before my myelogram.

I did have a headache afterwards, but not the infamous spinal headache. The procedure itself only took about 20 minutes and then they took CT pictures. I know that for other people the myelogram was more painful. Everybody's experience is a little different.
