Ok... I just got into a long discussion with a friend of mine as to whether or not the universe is infinite or finite. I said it was sort of a mixture ... The Big Bang model of the universe is finite. I personally believe the big bang universe is just an event in an infinite universe. We'll likely never know the real answer.

If we go to smaller and smaller times since the Big Bang, the green circle shrinks to a point, but the 78 billion light year box is always full, and it is always an infinitesimal fraction of the infinite Universe.

However no matter how much sex we humans can get up to we will still be finite in number and so by reversing the above argument it shows that if the universe is infinite then you could place humans on every planet but there would still be more planets.
