Used either as a ground cover, vine, or trailing accent in planters, these ivy varieties make dramatic additions. They are fully winter and summer hardy, once acclimated. They demand very good drainage, at least afternoon shade, and resent root disturbance in hot weather.

Information about ivies ... Contrary to common belief, there are hundreds of varieties of hedera, large and small, an assortment of leaf shapes and many are variegated. Hedera are not the poison ivy, which is Toxicondendron radicans, and you will have to search for a case of true ivies doing any harm.
