Since I placed the post about treating your English ivy with salt water, I've learned that once you're rid of whatever you were trying to kill you may not be able to get rid of the salt from the soil. Other plants won't grow there.

Removing and Transplanting English Ivy ... Getting rid of your ivy won't be much of a problem, other than the labor involved to dig or pull it up. While you could use Roundup or a similar application to kill the plants off, you would still have the same task of removing the plants and roots.
