From what I have read this is NOT the way to get rid of torpedo grass. Herbicides are not only toxic to you and the environment they do not kill the seeds and the grass just comes back later. To kill torpedo grass you have to kill it with heat.

Anybody heard of it? It's that long stringy, viney weed/grass that is planted on banks of streams, etc. to keep the banks in tact. Weed killers and drought doesn't seem to kill it; any suggestions? ... Re: torpedo grass. I had a recent surgery so my lawn got neglected for a bit and I have a significant area with torpedo grass.

The other type of contamination that was found in the greens mix was torpedo grass roots.  While Chuck and his crew were removing the clay they did find a few roots.  The Board of Directors was called to a special meeting to discuss these issues.

Q: I have been battling torpedo grass for a couple of years. Isn't there anything that works faster to kill it? ... When I had torpedo grass a long time ago, a county extension agent said if I continued to apply glyphosate to it, it would go away after three years. I was determined that it could not take that long.
