We rang in the New Year last night with a visit to the Festival of Lights at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro. ... The Festival of Lights runs from Thanksgiving through New Years. The lights are turned on at 5 PM and go off at 9 PM. We got there around 5:30 PM and crowds weren't a problem.

The annual Festival of Lights at the National Shrine of Our Lady of LaSalette kicked off Thanksgiving night with an eye towards Christmas. Before several thousand people, Mayor Kevin Dumas threw the switch on 450,000 lights - more than 50,000 more than last year, spread out on 10 of the Shrine's 75 acres off Park Street.
