Narcissus left Echo heartbroken and she spent the rest of her life in lonely glens, pining away for the love she never knew, until only her voice remained.

Hera confronted her with the affair, but Echo created a long and very untrue story for Hera, giving her lover enough time to escape. Now, Rhea (Hera's mom) didn't raise no fool. She knew she had been tricked, and by a nymph at that! His name, surprise surprise, was Narcissus. Echo fell in love with him at once.

Narcissus and Ech Narcissus was a very handsome mortal lad. All the maidens longed to be his, but he would have none of them. He wanted someone as beautiful as he was handsome. Heart broken maidens were nothing to him. Even the saddest case of the fairest nymph, Echo, did not move him.

In Greek mythology Echo was the lover of Narcissus. In this myth Echo, a forest nymph, falls in love with the egocentric youth Narcissus, and when he shows clear signs of rejecting her she persists in her attatchement, and will not be moved from her aim.

Anyone might easily have fallen in love with Narcissus, even as a child, and when he reached the age of sixteen, his path was strewn...
