I liked this movie because for the first time I clearly understand what Luther did for the Christian church and how liberating it must have been to get out from under the tyranny of the Catholic church of that day.

The movie shows Luther's progress in realizing how, in Christ, God is a loving heavenly Father, not the harsh judge who is appeased only though a Christian's works. I would have appreciated a bit more than what the movie did, but I can not help but be thankful for the Gospel that is in the movie.

Watch Luther 2003 trailer, read reviews, view photos, full cast, and see interviews at Hollywood.com. ... It was a good movie, in letting us know of the troubles he (Luther) went through getting his message known. Even if it was romanticized to make the story more interesting, the bottom line of the movie is true, I believe.

Whether you view him as a hero or a heretic, Luther is an excellent movie which accurately portrays the conflicted, passionate, impatient reformer. Some important history is left out as often happens with historical movies that do not want to run too long and lose their audience.
