CONCLUSIONS: These findings demonstrate a strong correlation between circulating IL7 levels and T-lymphopenia in HIV-1 infected individuals. Given the exceptional capacity of IL7 to augment T-lymphopoiesis, we hypothesize a potential role for IL7 in lymphocyte homeostasis.
