In our Maronite Rite, the season of Great Lent begins with the Sunday of the wedding at Cana or on Ash; Monday and ends on Hosanna Sunday (Palm Sunday) or on Friday, the 40th day. The season of Great Lent is like a trip we make in a boat that leads us to the shore of salvation.
