Because only 25% of all mesiodens erupt spontaneously, surgical management usually is necessary. A mesiodens that is conical in shape and is not inverted has a better chance for eruption than a mesiodens that is tubercular in shape and is inverted.

The usual treatment for these erupted mesiodens is ex-traction. This enables the permanent incisors to emerge in the proper position and at the proper time. In this case report, the mesiodens was not immediately extracted.
