Messenger RNA - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Messenger ribonucleic acid ( mRNA ) is a molecule of RNA encoding a chemical "blueprint" for a protein product. mRNA is transcribed from a DNA template, and carries coding information to the sites ...

Process by which non-coding sequences of base pairs (introns) are subtracted from the coding sequences (exons) of a gene in order to transcribe DNA into messenger RNA (mRNA.)

Author: brador Text: How does messenger RNA work? Response #: 1 of 1 Author: moodywj Text: mRNA attaches to an organelle in the cytoplasm called the ribosome. For each amino acid that will eventually end up in the final protein, there is a small separate RNA molecule called transfer, or t, RNA.

A molecule of RNA that serves as a template for protein synthesis. mRNA is transcribed from a gene and then translated by ribosomes in order to manufacture a protein. Each set of three bases, called codons, specifies a certain protein in the sequence of amino acids that comprise the protein.

mRNA (messenger RNA) is the mediating template between DNA and proteins. The information from a particular gene is transferred from a strand of DNA by the construction of a complementary strand of RNA through a process known as transcription.

An RNA molecule transcribed from the DNA of a gene, and from which a protein is translated by the action of ribosomes. The basic function of the nucleotide sequence of mRNA is to determine the amino acid sequence in proteins.

Structure of Messenger RNA - mRNA - Messenger RNA is always single stranded. It contains mostly the bases adenine, guanine, cytosine and uracil. There are few unusual substituted bases. Although there is a certain amount of random coiling in extracted mRNA, there is no base pairing.
