( I loved watching this and hearing T.I. and Nelly's opinions on hip hop and misogyny). After reading Music_and_Musing's amazing and insightful post on the Jaime Foxx/T-Pain song, "Blame It" I found myself really thinking about misogyny in hip-hop. ... But then I thought- what can I really do about misogyny in hip-hop anyway?

Their basic point was that many music videos for hip hop songs, and the lyrics of those songs, portray women merely as sex objects. According to some research, kids who watch a lot of videos with sex and violence are more likely to engage in "problem" behavior later on. ... what about misogyny in America...

Hip-hop often comes under attack for the lyrical content found in much of the music released such as the glorification of drug use, the focus on a largely material ... Hip hop does not represent all misogyny so don't single it out. Ok, whatever. I dislike all misogyny, and I think this sort of argument is rather absurd.
