I have always been frustrated with the difficulty in gluing, and especially clamping 45 degree miter joints. On this page, I describe the best method of gluing such joints I have found yet. I don't consider this method to be very good, just the best that I have figured out so far.

The miter joints were uneven, cut wrong and just left unfinished. They said that was standard and any other form would cost us more. In other words they will do the job done jank or janker the price varies and if you want the job finished the way Shaw recommends find someone else.
