This was of Mt Misery Rd near a shack with supposed small red handprints inside. Once going down Sweet Hollow Road at night we noticed the orange road signs had "Help Me" written on them. The area in general used to feel a lot eerier but has lost some of that due to development.

A simple Google search will give you an incredible number of hits concerning Mt. Misery, most of which lead ... Mt. Misery is two locations, divided by the Northern State Parkway. Site 1 is on the South end at the Radio tower itself. Site 2 is the North end by a park/undeveloped area across the parkway from the radio tower.

This short hike takes you through woodlands, agricultural fields and meadows to the top of Mt. Misery, a modest hill covered by a dense pine forest. Except for the short climb to the summit, the hike is mostly flat.

Three, at the base of Mount Misery there used to be an AIL building. Preston worked for AIL. In Melville I believe. Which is the town which the Mt. borders with Huntington. Paranormal activities and sightings have been told of happening there.

A survey carried out in May and June of 2000 confirmed that a large number of dog owners were regularly visiting Mt. Misery in order to let their dogs run free on the conservation land. In response to public concern, a public forum was held on Jan. 24, 2001 to gather input from Mt. Misery users and concerned citizens.
