OK folks, here's my latest stumper: My brakes don't feel like their starting to slow down my truck until the pedal is half way thru the stroke. Which would normally indicate air in the lines. But even if I pump up the brakes, the pedal doesn't get any stiffer. ... I assume you don't have a mushy feeling in the pedal...

Mushy / spongy brakes, especially after brake servicing: Have the brake fluid bled *properly* (most mechanics will not do it the correct way). Jim; Murphy says that Chrysler has a new procedure involving pumping the brakes to pressurize the system, then opening the bleed screw to allow the fluid and air to rush out.

Pulled it out of weeds after year and brakes are mushy, I replaced master cylinder and bleed, but still mushy? and one know how to test booster? ... Re: Mushy Brakes...

Plymouth Sundance question: What can cause mushy brakes on a plymouth sundance? If the pedal firms up after pumping a few times, its probably air in the lines. Bleed the brakes. If this does not solve ... Why are the brakes mushy on your car? Why do your brakes feel mushy when you stop your car?

As I was driving my '84 F-150 today, I put on the brakes and the pedal went almost all the way to the floor. After pumping the pedal a couple of times, it returned to normal. I pulled off the road and checked the reservoir -- it was full.
