Dear Dr. Ed: We have a terrible musty odor in our home that has impregnated all of our clothing and even my daughter’s stuffed animals. Washing only helps for a while until the odor comes back.

We have our house for sale. It is currently empty. We are having complaints about a musty odor in the house. When we left the house a couple of weeks ago we only smelled fresh paint. We had the carpets cleaned the week before.

I then covered it back up with plastic. By the next morning the musty odor was TOTALLY gone! ... When he came home from work the house was filled with smoke. We have sprayed ozium, odor neutralizer and sprinkled stuff on the carpet. Still the odor remained. I came home from work the other day and surprise, there was my order.
