I have tried f11 it didnt help i dont know the meanin of (XFCE), it comes after opening the computer and puttind the password. It doesn't go to the desktop view, there's only a rat icon and XFCE on the screen. what to do next? ... All my icons have disappeared. Show...

So, I’ve tried that and my desktop icons (while visible in the desktop folder in the toolbar thing) are still missing. ... The volume mixer icon disappeared from my toolbar [I'm using Vista] and I’ve followed various recommendations without success. One problem is the areas are greyed out but there are others.

When I installed ie7 it....deleted my desktop pic (my son! ... Can you tell me how you solved this issue....my menu toolbar disappeared after I got IE7 however, the alt and f11 functions do not work. Also, i have my yahoo toolbar but it appears that my standard toolbar is missing so I can not use the tools options...
