Does anyone have a link to the NASCAR rules regarding pit stops and how it affects a race cars' position during a race? ... It seems like some guys pick up places during a pit stop and others lose spots. Why would some drivers elect to pit by themselves? Why would some drivers elect to pit during a caution?

A pit stop essentially starts when the car hits the back line of the pit stall just behind the team’s own. Per NASCAR rules, crew members cannot leave the wall until the car touches that line. The second the car crosses that line, all seven guys jump.

I also think NASCAR makes no err's in judgment in regards to it's handing down the fines and penalties. I love the new cookie cutter pc responses most drivers make in interviews.
