but anyhow, I don't pretend to be a lawyer, so I don't know how the law is on this, but I would figure a no soliciting sign means pretty much what it says and if the person selling something ignores said sign they probably aren't going to be greeted in a friendly manner.

I posted a "No Soliciting" sign next to my front door a couple of months ago because I was fed up with the constant ads (garbage) being left on my door. The sign seems to have decreased the amount of garbage being forced upon me, but I still get stuck with the occasional pizza coupons and realtor ads.
