I'm female, in my 40's, and lately have been waking up with my left hand totally numb! Like you, if I hang my arm over the side of the bed, the feeling comes back after about a minute or two. Sometimes I just bend my arms slightly while sleeping and this can cause them to go numb. It is a terrible feeling that I can't feel my arms and hands except they are cold like their dead, I try my best to wave them around to get my circulation back.

This happens to me and I found out for me it was caused by clutching the blanket or sleeping with my hand under the pillow. It happens to me fairly regularly. I'll wake up and my whole arm will be numb and I wont even be able to move it.

I have tried sleeping on my stomach, but whenever I do that it is even worse. I guess that the worst possible posistion I have found is on my back with my arms above my head. Then both arms and hands are completely numb. ... Re: circulation problems while I am sleeping Darla Bracklow 1/29/98 (0)
