FLESHING BEAM PLANS; These are the only sketches that I was able to find. To make one for any of the different styles, sizes and how they are used, you will have to develop your own dimensions - a stretcher for different animals makes a good pattern and template to start with for a wooden or PVC beam.

Tanning Question Michigan Whitetail Deer Hunting ... I ended up going to the web site you suggested, and I saw some of the fleshing beams and draw knifes. I decided that I could use a piece of PVC pipe for my fleshing beam and my dad had a draw knife so every thing worked out ok.

Tools F or Fleshing; For ease during the fleshing process, you should use a fleshing beam/board. The beam has rounded corners and edges and is typically about 6 inches ... I've seen some done with plywood, PVC pipe etc. There are plenty of internet sites that can give you some good tips and advice on DIY fleshing beams.

Fleshing angle of beam, new tools that are made for fleshing ... The addition of the PVC over the wooden fleshing beam makes for a smooth surface. Notice the hinges. The white one has a pin which can be removed allowing the fleshing beam to be taken off, folded up and stored out of the way.
